Cyclops Fest 2014 Vendor FAQ The 4th Annual Cyclops Fest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13th, 2014 from 10am -7pm at the John Bryan Center in downtown Yellow Springs, Ohio. Cyclops is an epic festival of handmade goods, music, culture and DIY wonderfulness. We consistently showcase some of Ohio’s best artisans, musical acts and creative contemporaries. The event is always free to the public and happens rain or shine! Cyclops is presented and organized by Urban Handmade and clay + stan advertising agency in partnership with the Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce. All are located in downtown Yellow Springs. The Cyclops Festival will include:
- Handmade vendors
- Kids activities
- Beer Garden featuring Yellow Springs Brewery
- Food Truck vendors
- Great music
Who Is Eligible? Anybody with high quality, original and creative work that they have made by hand. This includes original design work, fine art and fine craft. Anybody who sells and makes handmade goods or art via website (Etsy, Shopify, etc.) and is professional in their artistic endeavors.
What can I sell? Cyclops Fest will be accepting everything from jewelry and sewn items to paper goods, apparel, original artwork and pretty much everything in between. ITEMS MUST BE HANDMADE.
How Can I Be A Vendor? Please fill out the application form under the “Apply” tab of http://www.cyclopsfest.com and submit it, along with the specified application fee (payable via PayPal or check) by July 31st. Applicants will be notified of acceptance to Cyclops Fest no later than August 15th. If you do not pay the vendor fee with your application you will not be given a space at Cyclops Fest. What does my vendor fee include? The fee includes your allotted vending space. You are responsible for supplying your own display items (tent, table clothes, jewelry displays, lucite boxes, etc.). Also, this is an outdoor event so you are also responsible for bringing any weather-related coverage (tent, plastic, canopy, etc.).
New Advertising Opportunity for Vendors As an added benefit to our vendors, we are introducing The Cyclops Gazette; An Epic D.I.Y. Field Guide. Inside the Gazette, you will find D.I.Y. instructionals, articles and photos about handmade culture and maps of the festival and Yellow Springs. We will be distributing 5000 copies of this 32 page magazine to 300 businesses in Dayton and Columbus with an estimated reach of 12000 individuals. Can I Share A Space? Absolutely! Please fill out the appropriate section of the application that mentions booth sharing.
Is Cyclops Fest Juried? Yes! We will accept all applications and jury them based on how your items fit within the particular vision Cyclops Fest. This includes, the quality and uniqueness of your wares and how they are represented in your application. Please make sure all website links work and that photo samples do not exceed more than 1 MB.
Is My Application Fee Refundable? If you are not accepted into Cyclops Fest your application fee will be refunded minus the jury fee of $10. However, if you for any reason drop out from vending at Cyclops Fest your application fee WILL NOT be refunded.
Will There Be a Rain Date? No. Cyclops Fest is still going down! A little rain never hurt anyone! Please note that you are responsible for providing all weather protection for your items, this goes for sunshine as well!
